Business seminar “Macroeconomic environment and investment opportunities of Tajikistan for foreign companies” was held in Japan
DUSHANBE, 17.04,2017. /NIAT “Khovar”/. Business seminar on the “Macroeconomic environment and investment opportunities of Tajikistan for foreign companies” was held on April 13 at the Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan in Japan with participation of the official delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan, representatives of relevant government agencies and private sectors of Japan.
According to the Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan in Japan, the seminar was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Japan Institute of Energy and Economics, Tajikistan-Japan Culture & Economic Friendship Corporation, Japan Association for Trade with Russian and NIS (ROTOBO), Institute for International Monetary Affairs, and Permanent Representative of Tokyo Representative Office of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). The seminar was also attended by the representatives of a number of large and known companies such as ITOCHU Corporation, Toshiba Corporation, Hitachi Ltd., Sumitomo Corporation, Hokaido Intellect Tank, Sojits Corporation, Akebono Boeki Co. Ltd., Hit World Management Group, Marubeni Corporation, Nissin Corporation, Cockey Co. Ltd, NPO ALBERI DEL CACAO – Cacao no ki, Toyo Kanetsu and Dainichi Hanso.
In the opening of the seminar, Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan in Japan Dr. Hamrokhon ZARIFI spoke about dynamically developing trade and economic situation in the Republic of Tajikistan, favorable investment opportunities and business environment and the need to introduce modern Japanese technologies in various areas of industry of Tajikistan.
Detailed presentation followed by the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan Mr. Nematullo Hikmatullozoda, who provided comprehensive information on the Macroeconomic Environment and Investment Opportunities of Tajikistan for foreign companies.
The participants of the business seminar were introduced to the implementation of the priority projects of the country, goals for the development of communications, agriculture, hydropower, mining and chemical industries, taking into account the attraction of advanced technologies. Those projects will be systematically implemented within the framework of the National Development Strategy of the Republic of Tajikistan for the period until 2030 and the Medium-term Development Program for 2016-2020.
It was emphasized that Tajikistan is a potential market for Japanese investments. In this regard, the representatives of Japanese companies were encouraged actively cooperate with their counterparts from Tajikistan, implementing mutually beneficial projects and creating joint manufacturing enterprises based on local raw materials.
Among the participants of business seminar, the exchange of views on the trends and prospects of further cooperation took place.
