Tajikistan’s Industrial Production Increases
DUSHANBE, 14.02.2019. (NIAT Khovar) – According to statistical indicators, the volume of industrial production in Tajikistan increased, reaching nearly 24 billion somoni in 2018. That is a 111.8% increase, said the Director of the Agency for Statistics Gulnora Hasanzoda today at a press conference.
“The volume of production in the mining industry increased by 16.3%, in manufacturing by 12.5%, and the production and distribution of electricity, gas and water by 7.8%,” Hasanzoda said.
The growth in the volume of industrial production in 2018 compared with 2017 was due to a significant increase in the production of coal, brown coal, oil, the production of non-metallic building materials, edible salt, meat, sausages, cheeses, whole milk products, canned goods, confectionery, pasta, vegetable oil, ethyl alcohol, cotton yarn, fabrics, carpets and rugs, hosiery, footwear, gasoline, diesel fuel, fuel oil, cement, gypsum, as well the generation of electricity and heat energy.
