Financial losses revealed by the Accounts Chamber over six months of 2019 estimated at TJS 88.3 mln
DUSHANBE, 18.07.2019. (NIAT Khovar) – Accounts Chamber auditors have inspected 156 federally funded institutions, including ministries, agencies, economic entities, project implementation units and banks. The inspection which continued over six months revealed that more than 88.3 million somoni had been misemployed by the said establishments. This was announced today at a press conference by the Chairman of the Accounts Chamber Karahon Chillazoda.
“Due to the measures taken by the Accounts Chamber, 41.1 million somoni has been restored back to the budget and the institutions,» said Karahon Chillazoda.
The reasons for the misutilization of public funds include unreasonable write-offs which amounted to 3.7 million somoni, understatement of revenue and underpayment of tax amounting to nearly 40 million somoni, inflating the volume of renovation and construction works (11.4 million), damage from the sale and lease of state property amounting to 237.8 thousand somoni, non-payment of dividends on state shares (438.9 thousand), wasteful spending (37.1 million) and illegal spending (4.4 million).
“The audits were conducted in ten centers and the Investment Projects Implementation Group. The misapplied sum of 2.2 million somoni has been fully restored. The National Bank of Tajikistan and its branches, the state savings bank Amonatbank also conducted audits. The financial damage identified amounted to 9.1 million somoni, of which 7.6 million somoni has been recovered,” said Chillazoda.
