Tajik CCER Chairman Meets with Uzbek CEC Chairman and SCO Deputy Secretary General
DUSHANBE, 27.02.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – Today, the Chairman of the Tajik Central Commission for Elections and Referenda (CCER) Bakhtiyor Khudoyorzoda met with the Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Uzbekistan Mirzo-Ulugbek Abdusalomov and the Deputy Secretary General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), the head of the SCO International Observer Mission Nurlan Akkoshkarov. The meeting was held within the preparations for the elections to the Assembly of Representatives and local Assemblies of People’s Deputies.
The parties exchanged views on this upcoming important political campaign.
While recalling the process of preparing for the elections, Khudoyorzoda noted that the Commission has created equal conditions for political competition based on the country’s legislation.
“To date, political parties and candidates continue to campaign throughout the country in the form of meetings with voters and speeches on TV, radio and periodicals,” Khudoyorzoda informed.
The parties noted that the work of international observers will promote the elections’ transparency and openness.
