About 2 Million Tonnes of Coal Was Mined in 2020

DUSHANBE, 24.12.2020 (NIAT Khovar) – The volume of coal production up to November 2020 has amounted to over 1.9 million tonnes, reports the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies.
According to the ministry, bituminous and brown coal was mined the most.
The production of bituminous coal has amounted to over 1.8 million tonnes.
The volume of coal production in 2019 has amounted to over 2 million tonnes (a hundred times more than in 2000), and in 2017 — about 1.7 million tonnes.
Twelve domestic and foreign companies are engaged in the extraction and production of coal.
More than 200 enterprises currently use coal as fuel.
