Akmaliddin Karimov Wins Gold at the World Sambo Championship

DUSHANBE, 13.11.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – Yesterday, Tajik sambo wrestler Akmaliddin Karimov won the gold medal in the 58 kg weight category at the World Sambo Championship in Tashkent and became the world champion.
In the final, Karimov defeated Russian athlete Sayan Hertek.
Another Tajik athlete Khushkadam Khusravov became the silver medalist of the World Sambo Championship in the 64 kg weight category.
Karimov became the fourth sambo wrestler — world champion from Tajikistan. Prior to that, Saidmumin Rahimov (1975), Behruz Khojazoda (2017) and Khushkadam Khusravov (2018) had received the title of world champions in sambo.
