Economic Cooperation Between Central Asia and China Developing Dynamically

DUSHANBE, 18.01.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – Yesterday, the Minister of Economic Development and Trade Zavki Zavkizoda attended the China-Central Asia Forum via videoconference, reports the ministry’s press center.
The event was also attended by the heads and representatives of the Ministries of Economy and Trade of China, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Turkmenistan.
Zavkizoda noted that in recent years, economic cooperation between the countries of Central Asia and China has been developing dynamically and has reached a high level.
He also emphasized that China has become one of the main trading partners and one of the largest investors for many Central Asian countries, including Tajikistan.
In this regard, Zavkizoda informed that in 2021, foreign trade turnover with China increased by 78% compared to 2020, and the share of trade with China in 2021 amounted to 13.2% and is in 4th place in the structure of foreign trade turnover of Tajikistan.
Following the forum, representatives of the participating countries noted the huge achievements of the region in trade and economy.
