Tajikistan and Turkmenistan Increase Trade Turnover

DUSHANBE, 12.01.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – Tajikistan has significantly increased its trade with Turkmenistan. Trade between the republics has increased more than two fold, reports the Russian news agency Sputnik.
Strengthening and building up trade and economic ties was one of the main topics of the meeting of the heads of state which tookplace in August last year.
As part of negotiations, 19 cooperation agreements were signed, including a memorandum of cooperation between the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade and the Ministry of Finance and Economy of the two countries, the Program of Trade and Economic Cooperation for 2021-2023, and the Agreement on the Organization of Trading Houses.
The delegations also signed a roadmap on increasing trade turnover for 2022-2023, on cooperation in the field of tourism, on the transportation, transit of goods and passengers, and a number of other documents.
