Tajikistan Sees Stable Annual Economic Growth

DUSHANBE, 08.04.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – As a result of the measures taken by the Government of Tajikistan over the past 20 years, the country’s annual economic growth has been steadily growing, on average by 7.5%, and the gross domestic product by 3.4 billion somoni in 2002 to 98.9 billion somoni in 2021. This was stated today by the Minister of Economic Development and Trade Zaki Zavkizoda at the meeting held to coincide with the Economists’ Day in Tajikistan.
“Particularly, the economic growth in 2021 amounted to 9.2%, which can be called the highest figure in the last 17 years, and according to international financial organizations, the highest in the region,” he noted.
