Tajik U-16 Football Team Loses to North Macedonia in a Penalty Shootout at the UEFA Tournament

DUSHANBE, 04.05.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – In the opening match of the UEFA International Development Tournament in Skopje, the Tajik U-16 football team lost to their peers from North Macedonia, reports the Football Federation of Tajikistan.
The main time of the match ended in a draw with score of 3-3.
According to the rules of the tournament, in case of a draw, a penalty shootout is provided. During the penalty shootout, Tajik players lost to their peers from North Macedonia with a score of 5:4.
In the second round, the Tajik team will play against Honduras tomorrow at 19:00 Dushanbe time.
At the UEFA Tournament, the teams will play each other in one round, where a total of 6 matches will be played. In case of a draw at the end of 90 minutes, a penalty shootout is provided. Three points will be given for a regular time win, 2 points for a penalty shootout win, and 1 point for a penalty shootout loss.
