Foreign Trade Between Sughd Region and Korea Reaches $36.6 Million in 2021

DUSHANBE, 30.08.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – In 2021, the foreign trade turnover between Sughd region and the Republic of Korea amounted to $36.6 million. This was noted at the meeting of the Chairman of the Sughd region Rajabboy Ahmadzoda with the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Tajikistan Kwon Dong Seok.
Ahmadzoda noted that Tajikistan and Korea are connected by historical ties, and fruitful cooperation between the countries is strengthening every year.
“We are in favor of strengthening cooperation and increasing the exchange of goods and products. There are many opportunities for developing cooperation in the Sughd region,” he said.
He also noted that the Sughd region is ready to cooperate with investors from Korea to create joint ventures in the field of mechanical engineering, production of household appliances and innovative greenhouses.
The parties exchanged views on the further strengthening and development of relations, including on ensuring the participation of Korean business circles in the implementation of new projects.
