Specialists Leveled the Most Difficult Sections of the Kalai-Khumb — Vanj — Entrance to the Rushon District Highway

DUSHANBE, 30.05.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – On May 26, the Minister of Transport Azim Ibrohim, during a working trip to the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region, got acquainted with the progress of work on the reconstruction of the section of the Kalai-Khumb — Vanj — entrance to the Rushon district of the Dushanbe — Kulma international highway.
The reconstruction of this section was launched in September 2022. For 9 months, the road builders leveled the most difficult sections, moved to the 4th and 5th sections of the project.
This is one of the most dangerous sections of the Dushanbe-Kulma international highway. Drivers and passengers of vehicles with great difficulty pass through it. Over the past few months, road workers have been working on dangerous sites, despite cold weather and frequent rains, as well as mudflows and rockfalls.
At the 40-kilometer distance of this road, it is planned to build 6 bridges, one avalanche corridor, 3 protective walls, 66 mudflow chutes, as well as lighting settlements. The performance of these works is entrusted to the Chinese company, the subcontractor Senjiang Beixing.
