DUSHANBE, 24.08.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – The issue of intensifying the construction of line «D» of the gas pipeline «Turkmenistan — Uzbekistan — Tajikistan — Kyrgyzstan — China» was discussed on August 22 during the meeting of the Speaker of the National Assembly, Chairman of Dushanbe Rustam Emomali with a member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party, Vice Premier of the Chinese State Council He Lifen.
The parties paid attention to the priority development of scientific and technical cooperation, innovation and high technologies, the issues of strengthening cooperation in order to create production bases based on «green» technologies, including the establishment of the production of electric vehicles, solar panels and «smart» electrical networks in Tajikistan.
The meeting focused on the development of trade and economic cooperation between Tajikistan and China, increasing the volume of trade, attracting investment from the Chinese business sector to the economy of Tajikistan, implementing joint projects in the field of transport, energy, industry, processing of mineral resources, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, contributing to the formation of a production chain and create new jobs in Tajikistan.
Rustam Emomali and He Lifen considered it necessary to attract modern Chinese investments and technologies to the development of the energy industry in Tajikistan, conduct joint scientific research in the field of agriculture and establish joint ventures for the cultivation and processing of organic fruits and vegetables, cotton, corn and wheat, as well as cooperation in the field of electronic commerce.
Also, the parties, as part of the development of the One Belt, One Road initiative, noted the importance of strengthening cooperation in the field of transport, expanding the potential of transit corridors and, in this regard, updating the Kulma-Karasu checkpoint, and implementing the second stage of the Dushanbe-Kulma highway, increasing the number of air routes between the two states.
