More Than 222,000 Tons of Cotton Harvested in Tajikistan

DUSHANBE, 10.10.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – Until October 6, 222,258 tons of cotton were harvested in Tajikistan, which is 52% of the target, reports the Ministry of Agriculture.
54,748 tons were collected in the Sughd region, 165,792 tons in the Khatlon region, and 1,718 tons in the districts and cities of republican subordination.
Today, all cotton-growing cities and district has announced the “60 days of hard work!” campaign for the full cotton harvest.
Cotton is one of the main export goods of Tajikistan. Every year, the country harvests an average of 430,000 tons of raw cotton, and about 200,000 hectares are sown with this agricultural crop.
