Natural State of Breakthrough Lakes in Tajikistan Is Stable

DUSHANBE, 25.07.2024 (NIAT Khovar) – Specialists of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of Tajikistan carried out expeditionary work to determine the current state of the breakthrough lakes Temurdara, Payron and Juvozak in the Karatog and Shing river basins, reports Deputy Chairman of the Committee Loik Rahmonzoda at a press conference.
According to him, observations have shown that the natural state of the dams of these lakes is stable, and there is no risk of a breakthrough.
In the first six months of 2024, experts conducted more than one scientific study of rivers, lakes, glaciers and snow cover in order to take further measures.
