Over 250,000 Participate in National Running and More Than 19,000 Join Cycling Marathon in Tajikistan

DUSHANBE, 19.05.2025 (NIAT Khovar) – In celebration of Youth Day in Tajikistan, large-scale sports events, including the National Running and a mass cycling marathon, were held across cities and districts of the country, attracting widespread participation.
Approximately 250,000 individuals took part in the National Run, while more than 19,000 joined the cycling marathon.
The events began in the Chorbogh area and concluded at the Navruzgoh state complex, with participants competing in a spirited and energetic atmosphere. These activities highlighted the growing enthusiasm for physical activity and healthy lifestyles among the country’s youth.
The National Running Day is held annually on the third Sunday of May, in accordance with a Presidential Decree issued on March 28, 2007. The event aims to promote public health, encourage physical fitness, and increase the popularity of sports, especially among young people.
Organized as part of broader efforts to engage the youth in physical culture and sports, the events underscored the unifying power of sports and their essential role in building a healthy and active society.
