Over 7,000 Students from SCO Countries Currently Studying in Tajikistan

DUSHANBE, 17.05.2025 (NIAT Khovar) – The creation of a common educational space, the development of joint academic programs and faculties, and the implementation of collaborative projects are the result of collective efforts within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). This was stated by Rahim Saidzoda, Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan, at the annual SCO University Conference.
In his address, the Minister emphasized the importance of expanding cultural and humanitarian cooperation, as well as strengthening bilateral and multilateral relations in the fields of education and science under the SCO framework.
He highlighted that the establishment of the SCO Network University marked a significant step in promoting collaboration and joint initiatives both within and beyond member states.
Currently, over 7,000 students from SCO countries are studying in Tajikistan, while more than 36,000 Tajik citizens are pursuing higher education in universities of SCO member states.
