DUSHANBE, 21.05.2025 (NIAT Khovar) – As of May 12, spring planting in Tajikistan has been completed on 415,000 hectares, or 94% of the planned area. The forecast for potato planting stands at 73%, while vegetable planting has reached 91%, according to President Emomali Rahmon, who spoke during a national seminar-meeting with agricultural producers and local activists in the Danghara district on May 17.
To address the shortfall in the spring sowing plan and ensure the future growth of cotton and potato production, the President has instructed relevant ministries, agencies, and local authorities at all levels to closely adhere to directives on developing the cotton industry and further processing cotton into high-value-added products.
Additionally, local authorities have been tasked with ensuring the full implementation of agricultural crop planting targets.
