Tajikistan Seeks to Regain Official Partner Status with Germany

DUSHANBE, 07.06.2025 (NIAT Khovar) – Tajikistan has initiated discussions to restore its status as an official partner of Germany, according to the country’s Ministry of Economic Development and Trade.
During a meeting on June 3 in Dushanbe, Minister Zavqi Zavqizoda met with Petar Georgiev, the newly appointed Director of the German Development Bank (KfW) for Central Asia, who will begin his work in Tajikistan on August 1.
The parties reviewed ongoing socio-economic projects and reaffirmed their commitment to their effective and timely implementation.
Zavqizoda proposed that the KfW support Tajikistan’s efforts to be reinstated as an official German development partner.
Both sides expressed readiness to deepen cooperation and explore new development initiatives.
