DUSHANBE, 03.02.2026 (NIAT Khovar) – The completion of Phase One of the Rehabilitation of the Norak Hydropower Plant project, which began on June 2, 2017, is scheduled for December 31, 2026, following an extension, Director General of Barqi Tojik Open Joint Stock Company Mahmadumar Asozoda announced at a press conference on Tuesday.
According to Asozoda, Phase One of the project, taking into account amendments and additions, includes the modernization of four hydroelectric units and the plant’s main equipment, the delivery and installation of six single-phase 500/220/10 kV autotransformers, as well as dam safety improvement works.
Rehabilitation and modernization works at the Nurek Hydropower Plant are ongoing.
