Tajikistan Signs $20 Million Loan Agreement with Kuwait Fund for School Development Project

A loan agreement was signed between Tajikistan and the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development for the “School Development” project, according to Tajikistan’s Ministry of Finance.
The agreement was signed in Vienna during a meeting between Finance Minister Fayziddin Qahhorzoda and Kuwait Fund Director General Walid Al-Bahar.
The financing totals 6 million Kuwaiti dinars (about $20 million) and is provided as a concessional loan. An additional $4.5 million will be contributed by the Government of Tajikistan under the project framework.
The project aims to improve general education infrastructure in Tajikistan through the construction and equipping of schools in several cities and districts to meet growing demand in the education sector.
