Dushanbe International Airport Serves More Than 1.1 Million Passengers in First Half of 2026

DUSHANBE, 13.07.2026 (NIAT Khovar) – Dushanbe International Airport handled more than 1.1 million passengers during the first six months of 2026, marking a 13 percent increase compared to the same period last year, officials announced at a press conference of the Civil Aviation Agency and the country’s aviation authorities.

According to the figures released, the airport served a total of 1,170,737 passengers, including 579,039 arriving passengers and 591,698 departing passengers. Passenger traffic increased by 132,227 compared to the first half of 2025.

Cargo traffic also recorded strong growth during the reporting period. Through the airport’s cargo terminal, 1,365 tonnes of cargo and mail were processed, including 207 tonnes of exports and 1,158 tonnes of imports. This represents an increase of 373 tonnes, or 38 percent, year-on-year.

Flights at Dushanbe International Airport are currently operated by 18 airlines, including flydubai of the United Arab Emirates, Turkish Airlines of Türkiye, China Southern Airlines and Loong Air of China, Varesh Airlines, Qeshm Air and Raymon Air of Iran, Jazeera Airways of Kuwait, Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), UTair, Ural Airlines, Nordwind Airlines and S7 Airlines of Russia, Air Astana of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan Airways and Centrum Air of Uzbekistan, as well as Tajik carriers Somon Air and Tajik Air.

During the first half of the year, the airport handled a total of 4,475 flights, including 4,161 scheduled services and 314 charter flights. The number of flights increased by 160, or 3.7 percent, compared to the same period last year.

The growth in passenger and cargo traffic reflects the continued recovery and expansion of Tajikistan’s civil aviation sector and the increasing connectivity of the country with regional and international destinations.
