DUSHANBE, 28.08.2017. /NIAT “Khovar”/. The Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon received today in the Palace of the Nation the Chief of the People’s Liberation Army’s Joint Staff Department of the People’s Republic of China Li Zuocheng.
The meeting discussed issues and prospects of security and military-technical cooperation between Tajikistan and China, which form the basis of bilateral relations.
The importance of bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and China in combating terrorism, extremism and separatism was stressed, and expanding of this interaction was assessed in the interests of all states of the region.
It was stressed that cooperation in this direction continues at an appropriate level, however, despite this, the states should be ready for an immediate response against negative and new phenomena having regional and international nature.
Both parties expressed their constructive views on enhancing integration and active support in resolving the complex military and political problem of Afghanistan, and emphasized their readiness and interest in strengthening border forces on the border between Tajikistan and Afghanistan, which is of topical importance.
Other issues of mutual interest, which are in the axis of regional and international policy, were also discussed at the meeting.
