Russian Defense Ministry reported the death of Gulmurod Halimov
DUSHANBE, 08.09.2017 /NIAT “Khovar”/. The “Minister of War” of the terrorist organization “Islamic State” banned in Tajikistan Gulmurod Halimov was killed as a result of a Russian air strike at the command post of terrorists near Deir-ez-Zor. It was reported today by “RIA Novosti” referring to the Russian Defense Ministry.
It is reported that along with Halimov, three more IS commanders, including “Amir Deir-ez-Zor” Abu Muhammad Ash-Shimali were killed. As a result of an air strike about forty ordinary militants were also killed.
The Ministry of Defense of Russia said that on September 5 information was received about the holding by the IS commanders of a meeting in the vicinity of Deir-ez-Zor. They planned to discuss the offensive of the Syrian government troops on the city and, in this connection, to work out some measures.
After confirming the information about the meeting, two Russian planes — Su-34 and Su-35 took off from Khmeimim airbase, which struck the target with concrete bombs.
“Halimov served in the presidential guard and commanded OMON in Tajikistan. From 2003 to 2008, he was trained three times on the US Blackwater military base. In 2015, Halimov disappeared from Tajikistan. Later, a video appeared on the Internet in which he took the oath of the IS. The Iraqi television channel “Al-sumaria” called him the commander-in-chief of the terrorist group”, — “RIA Novosti” writes.
In Tajikistan, a criminal case was filed against Gulmurod Halimov for treason and involvement in a criminal community. He was declared internationally wanted by Interpol.
