Eight Modern Sports Grounds Will Be Built in Khorogh
DUSHANBE, 17.01.2019. (NIAT Khovar) – The President of the Football Federation of Tajikistan and also the Mayor of Dushanbe Rustami Emomali plans to build eight modern sports grounds this year in the city of Khorogh in Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Oblas (GBAO), reported Yodgor Faizov, the acting chairman of the region during a meeting with athletes.
Faizov awarded 95 provincial athletes and coaches who performed well last year with cash prizes, certificates and valuable gifts.
He highlighted the performance of GBAO athletes at international tournaments in 2018, including Khushkadam Khusravov, the World Sambo Champion and bronze medalist of the Asian Judo Championship Shakarmamad Mirmamadov.
Last year, athletes from this region won 65 gold medals at republican and international competitions.
Faizov expressed his confidence that the athletes from GBAO will continue to perform successfully at international and world championships.
Today, ten sports schools and 62 sports facilities operate in GBAO.
