National Bank of Tajikistan Develops an Action Plan to Prevent COVID-19 Pandemic Impact on the Economy
DUSHANBE, 28.04.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – The National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT) has informed that it has developed an action plan to prevent the possible impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the national economy.
The NBT has also established a commission to strengthen anti-epidemic measures to prevent the transmission and emergence of new coronavirus infections.
In this process, financial institutions have been instructed to take the necessary measures to protect the health of consumers of financial services, and to reduce the burden on the country’s money supply.
The NBT has sent proposals to the government, Prime Minister Rasulzoda and relevant ministries and departments on the prevention of the impact of possible consequences of the pandemic on the economy and the banking system.
The NBT currently has fruitful cooperation with international financial institutions, such as the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank Group, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the Asian Development Bank, the Islamic Development Group, the Eurasian Development Bank, the Interstate Bank, the Association for Financial Access and other institutions.
