Production of Construction Materials in Tajikistan Increases Despite the Pandemic
DUSHANBE, 28.04.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – Tajik companies in the field of construction materials have surpassed last quarter’s production, making 566.9 million somoni worth of materials in the first three month of this year. That is 69.7 million somoni more than in the same period last year, reports the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of Tajikistan.
The sector’s share in the gross industrial output for this period reached 8.4%. This year, the country has produced more than 977,000 tons of cement, more than 10 million bricks, 10,300 cubic meters of gas blocks, 312,800 cubic meters of non-metallic materials, 86,900 pieces of gypsum board and more than 217,000 pieces of slate.
Also, more than $13 million worth of cement has been exported from Tajikistan over the same period. Imports include tiles worth $3.4 million, glass worth $2.1 million, and drywall worth about $1 million.
