Tajikistan Exported 6.59 Billion Somoni Worth of Goods in Last Six Months

DUSHANBE, 29.07.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – In the last six months, Tajikistan has exported 6.59 billion somoni ($640.3 million) worth of goods. Of these, 3.15 billion somoni ($306.7 million) are for industrial goods. This information was provided yesterday at a press conference by the Minister of Industry and New Technologies Zarobiddin Fayzullozoda.
“Over 48,500 tonnes of primary aluminum, 668,500 tonnes of cement, 67,200 tonnes of building paints, 3,100 tonnes of coal, 620 tonnes of salt, 7,800 tonnes of cotton yarn, 560.7 tonnes of aluminum profiles, 179 tonnes of canned fruits and vegetables, more than 9,000 tonnes of dried fruits have been exported,” the minister said.
According to Fayzullozoda, 83 new industrial enterprises began operation during the reporting period, creating 1,135 new jobs.
“Thirty-four enterprises were opened in Sughd, 21 enterprises in Khatlon, two in the GBAO, 13 in Dushanbe and 13 in the districts of republican subordination. In past six months, these enterprises have managed to produce 491 million somoni worth of products,” the minister added.
According to the Ministry of Industry, there are only 2,216 industrial enterprises registered in Tajikistan, 682 of which are in Sughd, 604 in Khatlon, 464 in Dushanbe, 420 in districts and 46 in the GBAO.
