Tajikistan and Afghanistan Develop Trade and Economic Cooperation

DUSHANBE, 03.03.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – Yesterday, the Minister of Economic Development and Trade Zavki Zavkizoda met with the First Deputy Chairman of the House of People of Afghanistan Muhammad Mirza Katawazai.
The meeting focused on the development of bilateral and multilateral trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.
Zavkizoda noted that bilateral cooperation is expanding in all directions, including in trade, energy, transport, education, health and culture.
The parties noted that the current potential of the two countries in the trade and economic spheres is not used to the proper extent and there is an opportunity to significantly increase the turnover of goods and products.
In this regard, proposals were presented, including the creation of enterprises for the production of medicines, the production of textiles, food and agricultural products processing, as well as an international logistics terminal in the free economic zone Panj with the involvement of investors from Afghanistan.
The Afghan side also expressed their readiness to improve economic and trade relations with Tajikistan.
