French Ambassador to Tajikistan Visits Kulob FEZ

DUSHANBE, 19.04.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – French Ambassador to Tajikistan Michel Tarran visited the free economic zone (FEZ) Kulob and got acquainted with the priority investment projects.
The head of FEZ administration Mustafo Abdullozoda acquainted the guest with the projects of the zone’s general plan, fencing of the territory, the customs post, administrative building, center for the development of young talents, promotion of the export of tourism products, and industrial enterprises for the production of cars.
Additionally, in order to strengthen cooperation between France and Tajikistan, attract investors and entrepreneurs, as well domestic and foreign investment into the country’s economy, FEZ’s leadership proposed priority investment projects to Tarran for the processing of local raw materials, including cotton, grain, production of textiles, pharmaceutical products, energy-saving lamps, batteries, metal structures, oil, coarse cloth, construction of technology parks, and logistics centers.
Also, specific proposals were made to open a French Corner on the basis of the Center for the Development of Young Talents and the Export of Tourism Products through the zone. This can lay the foundation for the promotion of the French language among young people.
Tarran expressed interest in promoting the development of the zone, attracting more investors and entrepreneurs to the implementation of priority projects through the organization of business forums and exchange of experience.
The officials emphasized that in the future, concrete measures will be taken to strengthen and develop economic relations between France and Tajikistan through the widespread use of tax and customs benefits of FEZ Kulob.
