DUSHANBE, 01.11.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – The Tajik U-23 football team finished its performance at the 2022 Asian Cup qualifiers and ranked second place in Group B.

In the last round, Tajik team lost in an equal fight to Iran with a score of 2-3, which eventually led the group to reach the 2022 Asian Cup.

Despite the defeat to Iran, Tajik team retained the chances of reaching the 2022 Asian Cup.

According to the regulations, following the qualifier results, the winners of 11 groups and the four best teams that took second places in their groups will reach the final stage.

Currently, Tajikistan is among the four best teams that took second places in their groups. However, whether the Tajik team will be able to reach the 2022 Asian Cup depends on the result of the Group I match between Vietnam and Myanmar, which will be held tomorrow in Bishkek. If one of the teams wins with any score other than 4-3 (5-4, 6-5, and so on), Tajikistan will advance to the final stage. If this match ends with the score of 3-2, then yellow cards will be counted.
