DUSHANBE, 04.04.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – Yesterday, Istiklol FC arrived in Saudi Arabia to participate in the 2022 AFC Champions League group stage, which will be held in a centralized format.

The Tajik team was met by representatives of the organizing committee of the Champions League and employees of the Embassy of Tajikistan in Saudi Arabia.

In the 2022 AFC Champions League, Istiklol will play in Group A against Al Hilal (Saudi Arabia) and Al Rayyan (Qatar), as well as the winner of the playoff pair Sharjah (UAE) — Al-Zavraa (Iraq).

All matches in the West zone will take place from April 8 through April 27 in Saudi Arabia. The matches will be held in Riyadh (Group A and B), Jeddah (Group C), Buraydah (Group D), and Dammam (Group E).

According to the results of the group stage, the winners of five groups from each zone, as well as three teams that took second places in their groups with the best results, will advance to the 1/8 finals.

In case of reaching the playoffs, Istiklol will play 1/8 final matches on February 3 or 4, 2023.
