Tajikistan and China Expand Trade and Economic Cooperation

DUSHANBE, 22.04.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – Yesterday, Minister of Economic Development and Trade Zavki Zavkizoda met with the Chinese Ambassador to Tajikistan Ji Shumin.
The meeting focused on the expansion of bilateral trade cooperation between the two countries.
The foreign trade turnover between Tajikistan and China in 2021 reached $839.3 million, or increased by 77.5% compared to 2020.
The parties exchanged views on the development of cooperation in the trade, economic, and investment fields, in particular, on the creation of joint ventures in Tajikistan, including in the country’s free economic zones.
They also discussed the issues of expanding cooperation in the areas of digital economy, e-commerce, green economy, agriculture, export growth, primarily export of organic agricultural products from Tajikistan to China, further development of transport and logistics links.
In order to further strengthen the comprehensive strategic partnership and mutually beneficial cooperation, the Program of Trade and Economic Cooperation between Tajikistan and China (until 2025) was signed on February 5.
Following the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to expand trade and economic cooperation and implement the identified priorities.
