VIII International Trade Fair Sughd-2022 Starts in Khujand

DUSHANBE, 17.06.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – Today, the VIII International Trade Fair Sughd-2022 started at the Sports Palace of Khujand.
The purpose of the fair is to strengthen long-term trade relations and partnerships between business circles of the Sughd region and other regions of Tajikistan with trading companies, investors and business circles of foreign countries by providing a platform for demonstrating product potential, as well as signing cooperation agreements with development partners to search for new markets.
A parallel trade and investment forum is planned at the regional level, during which Tajik companies and enterprises will present their various products and sign cooperation agreements with development partners to find new markets.
Over 700 small and large industrial enterprises operate in the Sughd region. The achievements of the region in the sectors of mining and smelting, light industry, processing of agricultural products, processing of cotton and textiles, production of cotton products, building materials are significant and there are many opportunities for expanding cooperation.
The fair is being held for the eighth time with the aim of presenting the economic, industrial, agricultural and tourism potential of the Sughd region, developing trade and economic relations, investing in the region’s economy and strengthening relations.
In 2020, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the fair could not be held.
From October 19 through October 20, 2021, the fair was held in Khujand.
