Tajik Delegation Attends Session of the UN Convention on Biological Diversity in Nairobi

DUSHANBE, 23.06.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – Employees of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of Tajikistan take part in the 4th session of the Working Group of the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (WG2020-4), which takes place from June 21 through June 26 in Nairobi.
The purpose of the event is to support the Parties to the Convention and other stakeholders in the debates and negotiations at the session, organizing a series of briefings with the participation of key technical experts with the support of the Secretariat on key issues.
The session was opened under the chairmanship of the Executive Secretary of the Convention on Biological Diversity.
The main attention is focused on the consideration and adoption of issues on monitoring information systems, scientific information on tasks. The session participants also discussed issues of monitoring and supporting negotiations on the post-2020 global biodiversity framework. Support Perspectives and Biodiversity Strategy GEF-8 and Sharm el-Sheikh-Kunming. Agenda for Action for Environment and Humans – moving from biodiversity commitments to implementation in the real economy was another important topic of the session.
