Over Fifteen Cooperation Agreements Worth More Than 3.5 Billion Somoni Signed at Kulob-2022 International Economic Forum

DUSHANBE, 29.08.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – On August 27, more than 15 cooperation agreements in the fields of industry, agriculture, construction, information technology worth over 3.5 billion somoni were signed as part of the Kulob-2022 International Economic Forum.
The forum was attended by more than 300 people, including heads and officials of state bodies, investors from Russia, China, Saudi Arabia, Turkiye, Kazakhstan, and business circles of Dushanbe, Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region, Sughd, and Khatlon regions.
The forum began with opening remarks by the Chairman of the State Committee for Investments and State Property Management Sadi Kodirzoda, Chairman of Khatlon Kurbon Hakimzoda, Minister of Transportation Azim Ibragim, head of the Representative Office of the Japan International Cooperation Agency in Tajikistan Muneo Takasaki, foreign investors, domestic entrepreneurs, and others.
The work of the forum included three panels focusing on the development of various industries in Khatlon region, declaring 2022-2026 as the Years of Industrial Development, opportunities for developing entrepreneurship in the tourism sector and attracting investments for its infrastructure in Khatlon region, and support for agriculture as a sustainable basis for the development of the region’s economy.
Forum participants got also acquainted with the activities of industrial and agricultural enterprises, historical and tourist sites, and the Kulob free economic zone.
