Tajik Delegation Attends International High-Level Conference in Baku

DUSHANBE, 01.11.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – Tajikistan’s delegation headed by the Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade Abdurahmon Abdurahmonzoda took part in the High-Level International Conference on Digital Transformation of Information Exchange in Supply Chains Using UN Standards on October 31 in Baku.
The conference was opened by the Minister of Digital Development and Transport of Azerbaijan Rashad Nabiyev together with the Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe Olga Algayorova.
Abdurahmonzoda noted that in pursuance of President Emomali Rahmon’s instructions, in order to achieve sustainable development, a number of documents related to the development of the digital economy have been adopted, the concept of the digital economy of Tajikistan, the medium-term program for the development of the digital economy for 2021-2025, the concept of e-government, the laws “On electronic digital signature,” “On electronic commerce,” and other strategic documents in the field of the digital economy are being implemented.
The conference also considers the role of UN standards in the digitization of the exchange of trade information, use of innovative digital technologies, facilitation of cross-border trade procedures, and the harmonization of transit documents for the carriage of goods.
Additionally, the event recognized the need to use international UN standards for digitalization and coordination of the single window for registration of export-import and transit operations between the countries participating in the UN Special Program for the Economies of Central Asia.
Following the conference, a decision was made to submit recommendations and proposals for consideration by the SPECA Governing Council.
