DUSHANBE, 22.06.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – On June 20, the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon at a seminar-conference on beekeeping in the Khovaling district instructed the Ministry of Agriculture, the Academy of Agricultural Sciences and the executive bodies of state power of regions, cities and districts to establish the integrated use of bee families and, along with the production of the main product — honey by-products of beekeeping, including nectar, propolis and bee venom.
“According to experts and scientists of the industry, the cultivation of 30 bee colonies will provide the financial needs of one household during the year. Along with this, the production of beekeeping by-products increases the profitability of the industry and increases the economic opportunities of beekeepers,” said President.
Also, he instructed the Ministry of Agriculture, together with other ministries, agencies and executive bodies of state power of regions, cities and districts, to ensure the timely and complete implementation of the activities of the adopted sectoral program for 2023-2027 and, taking into account the many opportunities for the development of the industry, to adopt additional measures to significantly increase the volume of honey production.
“In the country, bee colonies are used to produce products, increase colonies, as well as for pollination of crops. But in most cases, farmers ignore the importance of pollinating gardens and crops, do not allow the placement of bee colonies on the territory of attached lands without payment by beekeepers, which leads to a decrease in productivity,” added Emomali Rahmon.
In this regard, President instructed the Ministry of Agriculture, the State Committee for Land Management and Geodesy, the heads of regions, cities and districts to take practical measures to allocate land for the organization of breeding farms and zoning of bee species.
“The Ministry of Agriculture, the Academy of Agricultural Sciences and the executive bodies of state power of regions, cities and districts are obliged to regularly organize explanatory work in this direction and organize training courses,” he stressed.
