Tajikistan and China Strengthen Cooperation

DUSHANBE, 30.01.2024 (NIAT Khovar) – The Minister of Economic Development and Trade Zavki Zavkizoda and the Chinese Ambassador to Tajikistan Ji Shumin signed an act of delivery and acceptance of a gratuitous grant in the amount of $2,000,000 for the construction of a meeting room in the new building of the Government of Tajikistan.
The grant comes from exchange letters signed between the governments of the two countries on August 21, 2023 during the official visit of the Speaker of the National Assembly, Chairman of Dushanbe Rustam Emomali to China.
Following the signing ceremony, Zavkizoda held a meeting with Shumin.
It was informed that mutual foreign trade between the countries increased by 24 percent in 2023, as well as China ranked second in the structure of the country’s foreign trade turnover.
The meeting also focused on priority areas of bilateral trade and economic cooperation, including the creation of joint industrial enterprises in Tajikistan, cooperation in the digital and green economy.
