XI Meeting of the CIS Industrial Policy Council to Be Held in June in Dushanbe

DUSHANBE, 26.05.2025 (NIAT Khovar) – The XI Meeting of the Council on Industrial Policy of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and the First Consultative Meeting of the Industry Ministers of Central Asian Countries will be held on June 4 in Dushanbe, reports the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of Tajikistan.
Ministers from Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan have been invited to participate, with Azerbaijan attending as a guest. The meeting will be chaired by the Minister of Industry and New Technologies of Tajikistan.
In the context of Tajikistan’s current presidency of the CIS, the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies has developed a draft Agreement on Cooperation in the Development of the Heavy Machinery Industry among CIS member states. Following internal consultations, the draft has been included on the agenda of the upcoming CIS Heads of Government Council meeting, which is scheduled for June 5 in Dushanbe.
The meeting’s agenda will focus on key areas of industrial cooperation between CIS countries. Topics will include the development of industrial partnerships, production of advanced materials for high-tech sectors, and digital transformation within the mining, metallurgy, and chemical industries of the CIS.
Participants will also discuss the implementation of sectoral agreements in civil shipbuilding and the production of equipment for the oil, gas, and chemical industries.
Additionally, attention will be given to strengthening the role of core CIS institutions in training, retraining, and professional development for specialists in oil and gas, mining, metallurgy, textile and light industry sectors, as well as modern materials science, industrial recycling, and the research and application of structural and functional materials.
