Tajikistan and the United Arab Emirates Hold Economic, Investment, and Tourism Forum

DUSHANBE, 17.07.2025 (NIAT Khovar) – Today, Dushanbe hosted the Economic, Investment, and Tourism Forum between the Republic of Tajikistan and the United Arab Emirates.
The event showcased the country’s unique tourism, economic, and cultural advantages, as well as political initiatives that position Tajikistan as an emerging hub in Central Asia.
Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan, Zavqi Zavqizoda, noted that bilateral trade turnover between Tajikistan and the UAE more than doubled in the first half of 2025.
He emphasized that, thanks to the far-sighted policy of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, the key priorities of the country’s economic strategy remain attracting foreign investment and expanding regional and international cooperation.
“Today’s forum provides favorable conditions for direct meetings between representatives of leading companies, identification of priority areas of partnership, and the creation of a new foundation for further strengthening business relations,” the minister stated.
It was underscored that the forum’s outcomes will contribute to strengthening economic ties, implementing joint projects, and attracting direct foreign investment into Tajikistan’s economy.
Within the framework of the forum, a Cooperation Agreement on Air Transport was signed between the Governments of Tajikistan and the United Arab Emirates. In addition, a quadrilateral Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of Tajikistan, the Artificial Intelligence Council under the ministry, the State Unitary Enterprise “Dushanbe Smart City ”, and the UAE company Presight AI LTD in the field of artificial intelligence development.
