Assets, liabilities and capital of financial credit institutions increase in Tajikistan

DUSHANBE, July 23, 2026 (NIAT Khovar) – The assets and liabilities of financial credit institutions in Tajikistan reached 63.6 billion somoni and 51.5 billion somoni respectively as of the end of June 2026, increasing by 21.8% (or 11.4 billion somoni) and 22.4% (or 9.4 billion somoni) compared with the same period of 2025.

Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan Firdavs Tolibzoda stated this on July 20 during a press conference in Dushanbe, noting that the balance sheet capital of financial credit institutions amounted to 12.1 billion somoni during the reporting period, which is 2.0 billion somoni or 19.5% higher than in the same period last year.

According to him, as of June 30, 2026, a total of 69 financial credit institutions were operating in Tajikistan, including 18 conventional banks, one Islamic bank, 27 microcredit deposit organizations, two microcredit organizations, and 21 microcredit funds.

The number of structural units of financial credit institutions reached 1,971 as of the reporting date, which is 29 more than on the same date in 2025.
