Japanese Government Provides City Medical Center in Dushanbe with Equipment

DUSHANBE, 11.02.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – Yesterday, a ceremony took place to commemorate the successful completion of the project for updating the medical equipment of  the City Medical Center named after Karim Akhmedov in Dushanbe.

The project was realized with Japan’s Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP).

The Ambassador of Japan to Tajikistan Miyashita Takayuki attended the ceremony.

“The Government of Japan provided a grant totalling $89,222 to the City Medical Center named after Karim Akhmedov for the procurement of new medical equipment,” Ambassador Miyashita said.

Prior to the implementation of the project, this medical center was in need of necessary equipment for the obstetrics department to care for new born babies.

With the successful project completion, the necessary medical equipment have now been installed. The new additions include ventilators, medical monitors, incubators, neonatal phototherapy lamps, baby beds.

“Japan’s GGP projects have been able to make a true difference by providing development assistance for the improvement of different spheres, including infrastructure, education, agriculture, health and social sectors,” Ambassador Miyashita stated.

He also added that the projects plays a vital role in strengthening the bilateral partnership between Tajikistan and Japan.

Along with the medical center’s staff and local government representatives, the Deputy Head of Health Department in Dushanbe Kholmirzo Davlatov, the head of City Medical Center named after Karim Akhmedov Khurshed Rustamov and his deputies Akram Mahmadkholzod and Roziya Abdusamadova also attended the ceremony.
