DUSHANBE, July 24, 2026 (NIAT Khovar) – Dushanbe will celebrate the 35th anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan with a series of large-scale events, in accordance with a resolution signed by the Chairman of Dushanbe, reports the Information Department of the Dushanbe Chairman’s Office.
State Independence is regarded as the nation’s most sacred achievement and one of the greatest milestones in Tajikistan’s history. Since gaining independence on September 9, 1991, the Republic of Tajikistan has entered a new stage of statehood and, over the past 35 years, has made significant progress along a path of national development and consolidation.
The anniversary will be commemorated through a wide range of cultural events, high-level conferences, public forums, and community gatherings across the capital.
The celebrations are intended to promote appreciation of independence and sovereign statehood, strengthen peace, stability, and national unity, foster patriotism and civic responsibility, reinforce national identity, and preserve the country’s cultural heritage and state symbols. These values continue to serve as the foundation for building a strong civil society, ensuring sustainable socio-economic development, and advancing Tajikistan’s long-term strategic priorities.
