Sughd Region Will Import 1,500 Tonnes of Wheat from Uzbekistan

DUSHANBE, 29.08.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – Sughd region has decided to import 1,500 tonnes of wheat of the Bezostaya-100 variety from Uzbekistan Fergana region. This issue was discussed during the trip of Sughd representatives led by the head of the region’s Main Department of Agriculture Khairullo Bobozoda.
From August 25 through August 26, per Sughd Chairman Rajabboy Ahmadzoda’s instruction, region’s representatives visited the Fergana region and held meetings and talks with this region’s leadership.
During the meeting with the leadership of the Fergana region, it was emphasized that Fergana is ready to offer wheat seeds at a relatively affordable price, that is, at $350 per tonne.
It was decided that 1,500 tonnes of Bezostaya-100 wheat will be imported to the Sughd region.
Sughd’s representatives also got acquainted with the Kokand don Mahsulotlari Corporation, where they held a meeting on strengthening cooperation and importing wheat to Sughd.
The seeds of fertile wheat varieties will be brought to the region in order to increase yields and increase grain production.
