Minister of Economic Development Meets UN FAO Representative in Tajikistan

DUSHANBE, 06.05.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – The opening of logistics centers in Tajikistan as one of the priority areas of cooperation in the future was discussed on May 4 by the Minister of Economic Development and Trade Zavki Zavkizoda and the Representative of the UN Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) in Tajikistan Oleg Guchgeldiev.
Logistics centers will support the agricultural sector and the provision of high-quality foods to the population.
Zavkizoda provided Guchgeldiev with detailed information on agricultural policy, food security, poverty reduction, and other strategic goals of the country, as well as existing opportunities in these areas.
Guchgeldiev expressed his opinion on the possibilities of cooperation between the parties in the current year and in the future.
Until December 31, 2020, the FAO UN Office in Tajikistan had implemented 17 active national projects worth $8.1 million.
Following the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to comprehensively expand and effectively use bilateral and multilateral cooperation.
