UN Ready to Assist in the Implementation of the Development Goals of Tajikistan

DUSHANBE, 22.02.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – Preparations for the meeting of the National Development Council under the President of Tajikistan and the Development Forum of Tajikistan were discussed by the Minister of Economic Development and Trade Zavki Zavkizoda and the Regional Director of the United Nations Development Coordination Office for Europe and Central Asia Gwi-Yeop Son.
Zavkizoda expressed his gratitude to Son for mutually beneficial cooperation in the implementation of the goals and priorities of the country.
He proposed to take into account the strategic goals and priorities of the government of Tajikistan, as well as the development of the green and digital economy in the Country Program of the UN Agencies for the coming years.
The meeting focused on the issues of preparations for the submission of the Voluntary Report to the UN within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals scheduled for 2023.
Son expressed the readiness of the UN and its agencies to assist in the implementation of the country’s development goals and priorities and to carry out the above activities.
