Tajik Delegation Attends Ministerial Conference of the World Trade Organization

DUSHANBE, 13.06.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – Yesterday, Tajik delegation headed by the Minister of Economic Development and Trade Zavki Zavkizoda attended the opening ceremony of the 12th Ministerial Conference of the World Trade Organization (WTO) in Geneva (Switzerland).
The work of the conference, which is attended by delegations from 164 WTO member countries, will end on June 15. .
The conference will focus on the problems of world commerce, issues of trade in agricultural products in the conditions of increased food prices, WTO reform.
In his speech, Zavkizoda noted that as a result of the measures taken in 2013-2021, Tajikistan has made significant progress, with an average economic growth of 7% and increased the number of trading partners to 110 countries.
The 13th WTO Ministerial Conference will be held in Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates).
The Conference of Ministers of Economy and Trade is the highest governing body of the WTO, which makes important decisions related to world trade.
