Tajikistan’s Priority Energy Investment Project Supported in New York

DUSHANBE, 24.07.2023 (NIAT Khovar) — On July 19, at the United Nations headquarters in New York, within the framework of the high-level political forum on sustainable development, the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan met with the Director General of the Abu Dhabi Development Fund and the Deputy Cabinet Minister for Competitiveness and Knowledge Sharing of the United Arab Emirates.
The UAE side was provided with ample opportunities for investment in the country’s economy, requested financing for the construction of the Rogun HPP and priority state investment projects in the fields of energy, industry, infrastructure, agriculture, irrigation and climate change, which received support.
The UAE side, in turn, called for the establishment of mutually beneficial cooperation within the framework of the UAE state program for the exchange of best practices of public administration aimed at strengthening the capacity of state bodies, institutions and individuals.
The Tajik side thanked the UAE side for the invitation to cooperate on the fifth initiative of Tajikistan, within the framework of the UN Climate Change Conference (COP 28), and expressed its full readiness in this direction.
