UNICEF Will Strengthen Support to Khatlon Region in the Future

DUSHANBE, 30.11.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – In the future, the UN Children’s Fund in Tajikistan will strengthen its support to the Khatlon region in the implementation of social programs and will make a more valuable contribution to improving the living standard of the population. This was said on November 28 in Bokhtar during a meeting between the Chairman of the Khatlon region Davlatali Said and the UNICEF Representative in Tajikistan Arthur van Diesen.
Said expressed his opinion on cooperation with development partners in various social spheres and stated that with the support of the Government of Tajikistan and the UNICEF, many projects are being implemented in the social spheres of the Khatlon region.
It was noted that the implementation of health development programs for maternal and child health, the “Safe School: Preventing Violence against Children with Attention to Girls in the Family, School and Society” project continues, and significant work has been done to improve the well-being of residents of cities and districts of the region. Through its other projects, UNICEF is taking the necessary measures to realize the well-being of poor families, increase economic stability and expand the realization of their rights.
